John Watson Daniel

The John Watson Daniel Scholarship was established in memory of John W. Daniel in 1997 by the JWD Retirement Club. The scholarship is for Danville, Pittsylvania and Caswell County graduates and may give primary consideration to descendants of employees or retirees of John W. Daniel Construction Company. John Daniel was a noted builder in the Danville area, who died in a car accident in 1992. His firm built Piedmont Mall, George Washington High School, Windsor Heights, the Danville courts building, Riverside Shopping Center, four buildings at Danville Community College, as well as other works.
