The Andy Warren Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of GW Football Coach Andy Warren to support GW athletes, with a preference for football players.
Andy Warren graduated from George Washington High School in 1981. He was given a full athletic scholarship to attend Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. Andy played football for four years at Cameron where he was an outstanding athlete. He graduated from Cameron University in 1986. His dream while attending Cameron was to one day return to George Washington High School to teach and coach. His dream was fulfilled in 1989 when he was hired at GW as a teacher and coach. He taught and coached until January 1991. He had been diagnosed with leukemia and became gravely ill and died in November 1991.
